Love Letter of Gratitude on my 43rd Birthday

Posted by vibrantone on 4 August 2011 in Blog

I love my birthday! Yes it does get better & better every year. Here are just some of the expressions of gratitude I wish to share today.

  • Waking up before 5AM to sit in centering prayer (meditation) w/ my spirit co-pilot sweetie.
  • Out the door in time to walk around the pond, graced by the presence of dragonflies, taking in the golden light glinting off the tall grasses as the sun makes her ascent.
  • To my body, by now I have learned to honor and keep you. Thank you for looking back at me so glowingly all these years, sexy!
  • Today’s  perpetual calendar message from Dr. Christiane Northrup, reminding me to commit to living my dreams one day at a time. Hence, today’s affirmation: I am living my dreams!
  • My daughter’s bright and shining face as she emerges from her ‘tsunami princess’ style splash down in the water… laughing laughing laughing.
  • The amazing tribes I have immersed myself in, the incredible journey that started in their midst 6 years ago – thanks to inspired leadership by courageous people following their vision:  Renee Trudeau, Dr. Myron Wentz, Team Northrup, Regena Thomashauer, and more.
  • The city of Austin, Texas for being just the most perfect place to, replant myself, and learn how to nourish my life for lush and vibrant growth.  I am deeply grateful for every person here and the healing that you have nurtured over these eleven years.
  • My family of origin, my home soil, the State of Maine for continuing to inspire my love of beauty, nature and continual change –for welcoming me and my wonderful family home in advance of our actual arrival (10 months from now)!
  • Speaking of family… for loving me no matter what. You are my constant inspiration and I love love love what the four of us (and our furry friends) are creating together. You are each so uniquely amazing and BEAUTIFUL!
  • God/Goddess/Universe infinite Divine wellspring of love and inspiration, for unyielding persistence.

Sometimes the Universe just knocks you on your ass. Two weeks ago my otherwise well-protected body contracted whatever nasty virus was going around and called for a general TIME OUT.  I didn't like it, but I listened. I slept. I lounged around the house in my PJ's. I drank tea, ate soup, upped my nutrients and called my acupuncturist for herbal reinforcements. Thankfully, it was over in a matter of days and my suffering was relatively minimal. But my body is taking her sweet time getting back up to full capacity, and I've ... Read More

THIS WEEK: Take Your Stand for a Vibrant, Healthy Holiday

Posted by vibrantone on 20 October 2010 in Blog, Food

Been shopping lately? You can't walk into a store without stepping into a sea of orange (not just UT orange, Austinites), your path to the produce aisle blocked by stacks and boxes of small, individually-packaged, foil-wrapped sweets, treats & tricks for a holiday that's fast approaching. The candy corn is ready, the pumpkin tins are plentiful, even Christmas goodies have begun to appear. Sugar cravings stink any time of year. They sure can throw your holidays off kilter when you've got a double whammy of stress and the overwhelming presence of sweet snacks you loved in childhood showing up on desks at work, at parties, and family gatherings. Is it even possible ... Read More

Last night I was up late, pouring my heart & soul into a post on a private community forum when POOF it was gone from my screen and replaced by a cheery message that network updates were being performed and I could happily come back later. WTF?!?!?!?! It's moments like this when I become more aware of my inner Pele (Hawaiian Goddess of the volcano, creator and destroyer). A seemingly small disruption and VOOM. Unfortunately for innocent bystanders, this can happen somewhat regularly ~ and since I'm a woman who loves her husband, kids & dog, and prefers to keep them around, I've had to find some tools to ...
